Pacific Coast Conservation (PCC) is a Denver-based conservation firm specializing in art and museum collection management, historical research and object conservation. Started in 2014, we have provided services to a diverse client base, including cities, universities, museums, galleries, the federal government, and private collectors. We are currently seeking a highly organized and self-motivated Studio/Office Manager to join our small, dynamic team.

As the Studio Manager, you will mainly be focused in the studio, though we do require everyone on our team to be onsite and learn the basics of being a conservation technician. This informs so much of what you will be doing in the studio and also allows you to be onsite if necessary.

The applicant must possess excellent communication skills, both in writing and in communicating with clients, and be able to meet deadlines under pressure. Attention to detail and excellent time management skills are required. A background in fine arts, photography, or similar is recommended.

Responsibilities
  • Track projects and associated budgets to keep staff, travel and material budgets within proposed estimates.

  • Ensuring the studio environment is clean, organized and functional.

  • Managing office supplies, art lab van stocked and organized, studio equipment and facilities are functional and available.

  • Scheduling of meetings, onsite assessments, and any appointments for the Director and Conservators.

  • Update and maintain the studio calendar.

  • Manage the onsite staff schedule and ensure hours are allotted correction per project.

  • Maintain office budget and manage expenses for each project.

  • Approve purchases and ensure invoices are paid on time.

  • Communicate clearly and proactively with clients.

  • Basic bookkeeping.

  • Facilitating effective communication between all team members.

  • Handle or oversee contractors and associated contracts.

  • Coordinate travel arrangements for projects, staying within estimated budgets.

  • Organize files and maintain digital records.

  • Create templates and forms for assessments, proposals, and reports.

  • Obtain necessary city permits for street closures during on-site work.

  • Edit and process photos using Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.

  • Perform, assist with, or supervise project research as needed.

Requirements
  • Must be practiced in Mac OSX, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Cloud

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 2+ years of experience in a museum, gallery, artist studio or similar setting.

  • Background in fine arts, with strong attention to detail.

  • Photography and photo editing skills.

  • Must be excited and willing to learn new processes and techniques, especially as related to the conservation of artworks.

  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a strong work ethic.

  • Positive, solution-oriented attitude.

  • Clear, direct, and honest communication skills.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability.

  • Willingness to take on tasks outside the core job description as needed.

  • A minimum 2-3 year commitment is required.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for travel to job sites and supply transport.

  • Ability to wear a respirator as needed during physical tasks.
