Compensation Group: Experienced

Compensation Range: $70,000 - $80,000

Reports to: Director of Development and Strategy

Hours: Monday - Friday 9:00 am – 5:30 pm, and occasional Saturdays

Established in 2019, Minnesota Street Project Foundation supports artists, curators, and arts technicians with the space and technology needed to create work and expand their practices. Minnesota Street Project Foundation strengthens the health and vitality of the San Francisco Bay Area’s arts communities. Our programming enables new arts initiatives, collaborations, public exhibitions, and capacity building initiatives.

Job Summary:

The Foundation seeks an experienced Public Engagement Associate adept in communications, content creation, and event management to join our start-up team. The Public Engagement Associate will work to manage the Minnesota Street Project Foundation website, newsletters, social media accounts, create organizational materials, and support public events, exhibitions, and programming. This position will require a strong writer and storyteller. The Public Engagement Associate will work to craft the written and visual messages shared by the Foundation and bring consistency to the Foundation voice. Key to the role will be an attention to detail, experience in content creation, and creativity in approach. The Public Engagement Associate will possess a friendly and approachable demeanor with all clients, staff, visitors, artists and vendors, acting as a positive ambassador for the Foundation.

Responsibilities
  • Act as an ambassador for the Foundation in all activities - often this will include stakeholder communications, vendor communications, campus tours, and community events among other opportunities.

  • Create and maintain editorial calendar to showcase the Foundation mission, vision, values, artist stories, production stories, upcoming events, and impact.

  • Create content for social media channels, newsletters, organizational materials, and events.

  • Manage Squarespace, Mailchimp, Hootsuite, Eventbrite, Paperless Post and other communications technology.

  • Collaborate with Public Relations contractors and Graphic Designers as needed.

  • Devise and implement data systems and project management tools using best practices.

  • Support community-initiated programming logistics in all Foundation buildings.

  • Refine communication operations as needed to optimize productivity, sustainability and growth.

  • Assist in preparation, setup and breakdown for performances, screenings, artists talks and other events.

  • Serve as event support staff on occasion including greeting, docent duties and opening/closing procedures.

Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in organizational content creation and editorial workflow.

  • Demonstrated experience with editing tools and editorial software.

Experience with A/V equipment a plus.

  • Able to communicate clearly, take direction, and ask for assistance, as needed.

  • Demonstrate concern for detail and precise execution of work.

  • Able to adapt as priorities shift and willing to learn new skills.

  • Able to manage multiple deadlines effectively.

  • Able to collaborate and self-start.

  • Able to act as an ambassador to the public and program stakeholders.

  • Able to safely lift 35+ lbs.

  • Able to project manage and reflectively refine procedures.

  • Able to work in-person at our offices and spaces in San Francisco, California.

  • Able to generate your work plan from databases, programs materials, and resources we have on hand.
