Communications and Marketing Coordinator

SITE SANTA FE

A vital member of SITE SANTA FE, the Communications and Marketing Coordinator is part of the External Affairs team and works closely with all departments to communicate and share the value of SITE SANTA FE’s programs and services past, present, and future. With the goal of building awareness of SITE SANTA FE and strengthening relationships with audiences, this staff member supports the institution’s external communications by managing social media and marketing campaigns, as well as supporting content creation and other internal project management, and departmental reporting.

Responsibilities

Communications + Marketing

  • In collaboration with the Director of External Affairs, plan, develop, and coordinate a digital communication and marketing strategy for SITE SANTA FE’s communications, including but not limited to social media, email, etc.

  • Develop weekly engaging content for social media channels, email communication (via Mailchimp), and submission to online calendars

  • Assist with social media coverage during programs and events, and create organic content to support the social media strategy

  • Manage strategic engagement with artists and/or galleries for approval of content for digital platforms and reproductions

  • Coordinate with photographers and videographers for documentation of exhibitions, public programs, and other programs or events for archival, educational, and marketing efforts

  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with like-minded institutions for strategic digital cross-promotional opportunities

  • In collaboration with the Director of External Affairs, develop institutional guidelines for a variety of digital engagements and communications to ensure consistency throughout all platforms

  • Works closely with the Director of External Affairs and the Graphic Design and Digital Assets Manager to coordinate incoming requests and on-time delivery of ads, and collateral (video, audio, images, etc.)

  • Collaborate with the Director of External Affairs and Graphic Design and Digital Assets Manager on methods to better integrate physical and digital assets (i.e. QR code use and placement, public program streaming, interactive online guides, etc.)

  • Assist in tracking and measuring performance of marketing and communications efforts, analyze and report findings, create and publish feedback forms, and optimize communication effectiveness

  • In collaboration with Deputy Director, Visitor Services, and Creativity and Learning help create evaluation tools to assess audience and visitation of exhibitions and public programs for internal and grant reporting purposes

Public Relations

  • Work closely with the Director of External Affairs in all Public Relations related efforts and initiatives

  • Maintain press coverage archive and update SITE SANTA FE’s digital Press Room

  • Fulfill press image requests

  • Assist in the coordination of press events and trips

  • Assist with Marketing and Public Relations administrative responsibilities as needed.

Requirements
  1. Three or more years of combined experience in communications, public relations, media relations, content creation, and marketing within a nonprofit, museum, or cultural institution setting

  2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  3. Proven ability to implement integrated marketing and communications plans

  4. Experience in marketing communications, public relations, digital media, and/or print media

  5. Knowledge of regional and national marketing trends for arts organizations/museums

  6. Ability to prioritize and manage time, multitask, take initiative, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with rapidly shifting priorities.

  7. Proficient in routine office administration tasks, including correspondence, calendar management, and presentation preparation

  8. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud, MailChimp (or similar), Blackbaud/Altru (or similar), Meta Business Suite, and other marketing applications

  9. Basic photography and video skills preferable
